Mike & Jasmine both work at the Sockburn branch but enjoy getting up to Auckland to catch up with the North Islanders. They also run a small farm, B & B accommodation & have 4 children between them so there is never a quiet moment which is just the way they like it.
Hi Mike here I’m a born and bred Mid-Canterbury lad and I grew up on, and subsequently farmed for 30 years, an intensive arable farm at Longbeach, growing all sorts of weird and wonderful crops and seeds that ended up all over the globe.
All things mechanical and engineering were a daily part of farming life on a cropping farm, and as a half decent self taught engineer these skills get utilised with Aero NZ.
Having called time on a farming and farming politics career, a move to Courtenay in the Selwyn district still finds me doing a bit of small scale farming when I’m not wrangling gate automation stock and imports. So you may still occasionally find me at work in my gumboots!
