The BEA 4SAFE is a failsafe active infrared sensor that uses distance-measuring technology to protect people from contact with swing and revolving door leaves in motion. Mounted directly on the door leaf, it creates a three-dimensional detection field — making it especially well suited for protecting people with disabilities and children.
Designed for practical, reliable installation, the 4SAFE adapts to virtually any floor surface, including stainless steel plates, grids, wet or snow-covered ground. A single push-button calibrates the sensor for standard mounting heights, with fine-tuning available via four DIP switches. Where wider door coverage is needed, modules can be daisy-chained — up to six units — to cover the full door width without additional wiring complexity.
With dual relay outputs, a fast 64ms reaction time, and an infinite presence detection mode, the 4SAFE keeps doors from closing on anyone in the protection zone, for as long as they remain there. It complies with EN 16005 and is IP54 rated for outdoor-capable installations.
